When Andre Balazs asked SHD to design the interiors for the Standard hotel and spa in Miami, it was still operating as The Lido, the city's historic first spa. Shawn found the building’s untouched character and its proximity to the bay evocative and sought to design a hotel that was quieter and more organic in tone and texture than the other Standards. His design weaves the spa throughout the hotel with blond woods and natural linens echoing the sense of calm.
